“We are very thankful for this food and for what you do to help us, it makes us happy”

07/05/2021

Anne and Ivan are a couple from Maningrida which is a remote town on the coast of Arnhem Land.

Anne and Ivan travelled to Darwin to visit relatives and do some shopping, however they are unable to return home by road as they have become impassable during the wet season. They hope to return to Maningrida soon when they can get an airfare home.

In the meantime they live in the long grass around Darwin. They regularly attend the foreshore at Bundilla Beach to receive a meal form the mobile Meal service delivered by the Missionaries of Charity in conjunction with the Order of Malta members form the Central Northern Region.

The meal they receive is a godsend as otherwise they would not be able to afford to eat when in Darwin.
