Friendship, Faith and Unforgettable Experiences: Order of Malta 2026 Asia-Pacific Camp for Disabled Youth

05/11/2026

The Order of Malta 2026 Asia-Pacific Camp for Disabled Youth, held in Hong Kong from 1–5 November, brought together participants, members, volunteers and carers from across the Asia-Pacific region for an unforgettable experience of friendship, connection and personal growth.

More than just a camp, the event provided an opportunity to break down barriers, build lasting friendships and encourage participants to step outside their comfort zones in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment.

Throughout the camp, participants enjoyed an exciting program of activities designed to encourage interaction, independence and fun. Highlights included interactive team games, a visit to Beas River Country Club, horse riding demonstrations, and excursions to Disneyland and the Adventure Ship. There was also plenty of opportunity to celebrate different cultures, with a special Culture Night and Awards Presentation, where participants proudly shared their national costumes.

The evenings were filled with just as much excitement, with a magic show, disco dancing and a beautiful candlelight procession accompanied by singing and prayer. Alongside the many activities, the celebration of Mass and opportunities for prayer provided moments of reflection and spiritual connection.

The camp is also an invaluable opportunity for carers to enjoy some much-needed respite, knowing their loved ones are surrounded by people who genuinely care. The transformations can be remarkable. Carers are often amazed to see their loved ones emerge from their shells, grow in confidence, embrace new experiences and form friendships that continue well beyond the camp.

A heartfelt thank you to all the generous donors and supporters whose contributions helped make this experience possible. Your generosity creates opportunities, changes lives and gives participants and their families memories that will last a lifetime.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to the Hong Kong Association of the Order of Malta for hosting such a fantastic event and for the extraordinary effort, care and hospitality that went into making the camp such a success.

And, most importantly, to our wonderful participants, who remind us year after year just how much can be achieved when everyone is given the opportunity to belong, participate and shine.

Enjoy the album!
