Monthly food service for disadvantaged supported by members in Darwin

05/03/2021

On the last Sunday of every month members of the Order of Malta volunteer at a food service in Fannie Bay, Darwin.

The monthly commitment with the missionaries of charity involves members purchasing, preparing and serving the food to those who attend. The nuns deliver a prayer before the meal and the people we serve are most appreciative.

At the most recent service in February, 70 adults from disadvantaged circumstances were fed.

“Whilst we have only been involved in the project for six months, we are keen to increase the frequency, if funding and volunteers allow” explained Order of Malta Regional Hospitaller, Sean Parnell OAM.
