Loretta and Danny Higgins represented the Order of Malta Volunteers involved in the Sunday Outreach at Emmanual City Mission’s Christmas Dinner, Tuesday evening 20th December. This dinner was held to thank all ECM volunteers for their service throughout 2022.

ECM Volunteer and Communications Coordinator, Brittany Kimber mentioned The Order of Malta’s contributions on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. She commented how confident she was knowing the Order’s crew would turn up and humbly perform the volunteer duties of feeding, clothing and being pastorally present for so many visitors to ECM. Special mention was made of how Order volunteers are committed to service to the poor and the sick.

Present also was Richard Galeano, Senior Lecturer in Paramedicine at ACU, Banyo. Discussions have commenced between ACU and The Order of Malta regarding the opportunity to undertake a joint venture involving a fitted-out vehicle taking paramedic and nursing services mobile in the Brisbane Region in 2023.
