Order of Malta Australia

Members visit Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Caloundra

Divine Mercy Sunday saw members, our new candidate Rachel, plus family and friends of the North Eastern Region visit the vibrant Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast.
We were welcomed by Associate Pastor Fr Gerard Lai. Fr Gerard led the Eucharistic celebration, giving an uplifting explanation of the relatively new Feast of Divine Mercy Sunday. He was also very successful in encouraging the congregation to speak with the Order members following Mass at a well-attended morning tea.
Order members were met with wonderful hospitality and many probing questions about our Order, our robes and our hospitaller works. Those present with close ties back to the island of Malta were keen to share the connection and pride in their heritage.
This was the first Parish visit by the regional members post-Covid. Everyone involved enjoyed the visit and look forward to more later in the year. We were especially thankful to have the National President back in his home region, at least for this weekend.
