HIGHLIGHTS – 2023 Order of Malta Camp for Disabled Youth

06/11/2023

At the weekend our 2023 Order of Malta Australia Camp for Disabled Youth was held in Sydney. This was our fourth camp and was by far our biggest yet, with disabled guests travelling from across Australia to experience a weekend of unique challenges and activities in a supportive, fun environment.

The 87 participants were welcomed on Friday lunchtime and quickly thrust into action with ‘Survivor Olympics’ and a very competitive Superheroes and Villains Themed Games Night.

On Saturday, campers travelled to Treetops Adventure Park for an actioned filled day of activities. This was followed by the always popular camp disco in the evening, themed ‘Wild West’.

After a hearty breakfast, Mass, some craft and games and a farewell lunch on Sunday we said “goodbye’ to our very happy group of campers with new friendships made and old friendships renewed.

One of our volunteers, Ethan Zammit, has compiled a highlights videos to provide further insight into his wonderful experience.

We have already received many messages of thanks from our disabled guests, their carers and parents thanking us for hosting this camp. To all of our donors and volunteers made this camp possible – THANK YOU! Your generosity has made a real difference and for many guests, this weekend has been a highlight of their year.

If you would like to support this project you can DONATE ONLINE. Gifts $2 and more are tax deductible for Australian taxpayers.
