Order of Malta Australia

End of year celebration to thank Order of Malta volunteers in Korea

Report from Veronica Kim, Hospitaller for Korea

The last Lunchbox service of 2019 took place on Tuesday, 17th of December. Over 2019 we made over 12,600 lunchboxes for approximately 300 forgotten neighbors in the slum area through total 44 services.

To celebrate, the Order of Malta Korea organised a special year-end party for their volunteers on Monday, 16th of December. The party was hosted by president Silvano YM Park, open to anyone who has participated as a volunteer, and nearly 100 guests showed up at the party, wildly welcomed by the members of the Order of Malta Korea. Everyone surprised one another with their shining styles, given that we spent the entire year seeing each other only in our work uniforms, aprons, and masks. Celebrating the year of sharing over the grown number of services, lunchboxes and volunteers felt good and we are truly grateful for all than we can share and with our wonderful volunteers.
