Night Mission project launches to assist the homeless in Singapore
20 members and volunteers of the Singapore Association attended their kick-off session of the Night Mission project.
The session started with an orientation conducted by Catholic Welfare Services who runs this programme for the homeless. The group was divided into three smaller groups and all set out at 11 pm to visit the homeless in the Ang Mo Kio area. The mission ended past midnight.
The Singapore Association will be visiting the “rough sleepers” with the Catholic Welfare staff/volunteer every third Friday of the month from 10pm to past midnight to befriend them – bringing drinks, snacks and following up with assistance to get them off the street.
