Hygiene packs distributed to Sydney’s Homeless

Thanks to a generous donation from Colgate Palmolive, the NSW Branch’s Community Care Van has started distributing ‘Hygiene Packs’ to Sydney’s Homeless.

IMG_6798The donation of toothpaste, toothbrushes and soap from Colgate Palmolive has enabled us to make 160 ‘Hygiene packs’ to distribute to the homeless via the Community Care Van. This is in addition to water, sunscreen, sun hats and the provision of healthcare from a Nurse from St Vincent’s Hospital, our partners in healthcare.

As the weather cools, the Van will start to distribute the Order’s Coats for the Homeless.

Since their introduction, on an average 30 Hygiene packs a night have been distributed. If funding can be secured, the NSW Branch would like to make this a permanent offering and expand it to include sanitary items for women.
