Creating Leaders Student Update – Congratulations Amélia

07/10/2026

Pictured above: Amélia in 2022. This year, she celebrated graduating from high school after 10 years of support through the Creating Leaders Scholarship Program.

We are excited to share with you a video message from one of our Creating Leaders students, Amélia, who is graduating from high school this year.

Amélia joined the Creating Leaders program in 2016 after being identified as a student with strong academic promise. As one of 10 children, and with her mother having recently passed away, the financial pressure on her family was significant. The scholarship provided Amélia with the opportunity to continue her education and pursue her ambitions.

For the past 10 years, the Order of Malta Creating Leaders program has supported Amélia throughout her school education. During that time, we have had the privilege of watching her grow, learn and work towards her goals.

When Amélia joined the program in 2016, she dreamed of becoming a professor. Now, as she graduates from high school, a new chapter begins and we are excited to see where her ambition, determination and education will take her.

We are incredibly proud of Amélia and all that she has achieved.

Her journey is a wonderful example of the difference that education and the generosity of our supporters can make. By supporting Creating Leaders, our donors give young people like Amélia the opportunity to stay in school, realise their potential and build a brighter future.

Please join us in congratulating Amélia on this wonderful achievement and wishing her every success for the next chapter of her journey.

Helping more students continue their education

The need for scholarships remains significant.

At this stage, the program can commit to offering five scholarships next year, each for a minimum three-year period. However, the schools we suport have advised that they could readily identify several other deserving students with the academic potential to benefit from a scholarship whose circumstances may prevent them from continuing their education.

Our ability to support these additional students is currently limited by the funds available to the program.

You can help change a young person’s future

For just $100 a month, you can help provide another deserving student with a scholarship and the opportunity to continue their education.

A commitment of $100 per month over three years can provide a young person with the stability and support they need to complete their schooling.

One-off gifts of any amount are also gratefully received and will help us extend the reach of this important program and support more students in the future.

Gifts of $2 and more are tax deductible for Australian taxpayers.
