Members in the North Eastern Region celebrate Advent Mass

The evening of Tuesday 10th December saw 22 members, 3 postulants with over 60 family and friends come together at St Paschal’s Church, Wavell Heights to celebrate Mass with Magistral Chaplain Fr Gerard McMorrow.
Following was a wonderful meal as we celebrated the achievements of 2019. Special thanks were offered to former National President Dr Ian Marshall AM AE KC*SG for his many years of service to the Order in Queensland, nationally and internationally. Special thanks also were offered to Confrere Derek Pingel, the former regional hospitaller and to the parish community of Our Lady of Angels who are eager participants to many Order events during the year.
This year’s celebration was tinged with an element of sadness as Fr. Gerard will be leaving OLA Parish early in 2020 to take up the role of Parish Priest at Southport on the Gold Coast. Highlighted achievements for the North Eeatern Region for 2019 were the Coats program, the commencement of the Care Pack Initiative and our 2 new members invested during 2019, Eamonn Katter and Andrew Cichy. Finally all members were challenged that 2020 will be the year of hands on activity with many options to give service to Our Lords the Poor and the Sick.
