Introducing Fr Paul Nulley, Magistral Chaplain

Fr Paul Nulley has recently been appointed as an Order of Malta Magistral Chaplain
Fr. Paul was born and raised in Canberra, the middle of three boys. He graduated from Marist College in 2005 and after working for a gap year at the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts on a cadetship, he entered the Seminary for the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn.
Fr Paul was ordained a priest in 2013 and his initial appointments were at Cootamundra (four months) before a permanent appointment as Assistant Priest of the Young Mission (2014-2017). He took up an appointment as Parish Priest of St Joseph’s, O’Connor in January of 2017 and at the same time was given responsibilities as Vocations Director and Chaplain of ACU.
Fr Paul enjoys running and music, especially the musical patrimony of the church.
“I’ve been really humbled by the welcome I’ve received from the members of the Order in Canberra, especially once I’ve realised the contribution each has made (and continues) to society through their professional life. I’m really looking forward to meeting members from across Australia” said Fr. Paul on confirmation of the appointment. “I’m amazed by the work the Order does, not only in Australia but around the world. I feel privileged to be associated with the Order and to be able to make my own, small, contribution.”
“I’m really struck by the words from the daily prayer, ‘Lord Jesus, Thou has seen fit to enlist me for Thy service among the Knights and Dames of St John of Jerusalem.‘ I see my joining the Order as primarily a response to God’s providential action and hope to be able to live up to the ideals that are put before me.”
