Order of Malta Australia

Infrared Thermometers to fight COVID-19 at Mae Sariang refugee camp North of Thailand.

On March 19, 2020, the Order of Malta Thailand gave their very swift “next day” response to an appeal from H.E. Ambassador Michael Mann’s with Aspirant Tanon Varaya purchasing and donating the very much in shortage 9 Infrared thermometers for Malteser International at Mae Sariang refugee camp North of Thailand.

Malteser International is using the infrared thermometers to screen visitors as a measure to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 in to the camp which is taking care of about 20,000 refugees.

Mr. Per Vogel. The country representative for Malteser International in Thailand expressed his appreciations to the Order of Malta Thailand, in his words:

“This will hopefully help us, and the local authorities, to keep the virus out of the camps for now, providing some valuable time to get a few other arrangements in place.”
