Funeral of Confrère Dr Ian Marshall, AM AE KC*SG KGCMG (Ob) GCM

06/04/2023

Yesterday we bid farewell to a much loved, respected and distinguished member of the Order of Malta Australia.

Confrère Dr Ian Marshall, AM AE KC*SG KGCMG (Ob) GCM was devoted to the service of the sick and the poor, through his work as a doctor and his work in the Order, where he served as both National President and National Hospitaller. By his side the entire time was wife Judith, who he always credited with being his pillar of strength and support.

Ian’s funeral was held at St Pascal’s Catholic Church, Wavell Heights and was celebrated by Fr Gerard McMorrow, with Archbishop Mark Coleridge and Bishop Ken Howell in attendance. Archbishop Coleridge, the Principal Chaplain of the Australian Association of the Order of Malta, delivered the Commendation and Farewell.

A beloved leader, remembered for his kindness, wisdom, humor and optimism. He is already greatly missed. May he rest in eternal peace.
