Annual Lourdes Day Mass Fills St Patrick’s Cathedral
22/02/2026
Our annual Lourdes Day Mass in Melbourne was celebrated on Saturday 14 February at St Patrick’s Cathedral, drawing thousands of the faithful for this deeply prayerful and hope-filled occasion.
The cathedral was filled to capacity as Melbourne’s Catholic community gathered for this special celebration, offered for the intentions of the sick, elderly and infirm. The Mass brought together members and volunteers of the Order of Malta, caregivers, those seeking healing, and many faithful supporters. United in prayer, we asked God to grant healing, comfort and strength to all who are suffering.
A particularly moving moment of the liturgy was the blessing for good health bestowed upon those in attendance. Each person also received a bottle of water from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes — a tangible reminder of Our Lady’s loving intercession and the enduring hope that Lourdes represents for the sick and their families.
Our Lourdes Masses are held annually in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, and all are warmly invited to attend these special celebrations of faith, prayer and solidarity with those who suffer.
