Christopher Muir – Requiescat in pace

11/06/2025

It is with much sadness that we share the news that Confrere Christopher ‘Chris’ Muir passed away on 3 June after a relatively brief battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Chris joined the Order of Malta in 2007. As regular attendee at the Order’s liturgies and retreats, Chris found a spiritual home with the Order. Service to the Poor and the Sick was a charism he closely associated with.

He was actively involved in charitable works of the Order, particpating in the Coats for the Homeless project and the food service at Emmanuel City Mission. He was also a senior supervisor for the Inaugural Order of Malta Australia Youth Camp held on the Gold Coast in 2021.

Please remember Chris and his family in your prayers.

Dear Lord, welcome your servant Chris into your heavenly kingdom, may perpetual light shine upon him, may he rest in peace. Amen.

The funeral for Confrere Chris will be on Friday 13 June, 11.30am at St Bridget’s Church, 78 Musgrave St, Red Hill. For those unable to make it in person a livestream will be available.
