Covid-19 – Hygiene Packs distributed to the homeless in Melbourne
Many homeless services across the country have had to stop due to social distancing restrictions, leaving some of the most vulnerable members of our society, with limited resources.
Members of the Order of Malta are doing what they can to assist those in their local community. Early Sunday morning, care packs were delivered to the homeless in Melbourne. The packs comprised of anti-bacterial hand wipes, tissues, Lucozade, water and some socks and were very much appreciated by the recipients. Members took the opportunity to ask the homeless about how the virus was affecting them and what the Order of Malta could do to assist.
In addition to providing care packs to the homeless, Members are also offering assistance to elderly in isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic.
