Mobile Community Café – social engagement program in VIC

14/03/2024

Community Cafes have been instrumental in providing an informal and safe space for isolated or disadvantaged people to meet, to share food and engage in informal conversation. Participants can attend for some of the time or stay for the 2-hour duration of each café. Community cafes have also provided an opportunity for participants to seek assistance with life tasks such as completing forms and IT assistance, or connecting community members with other services and supports available to them.

The tasks include preparing morning tea snacks, serving the community members a hot drink, and engaging in conversation with the attendees.
