Darwin Homeless Outreach Food Service

Our Order of Malta Outreach Food Service in the Darwin city area is amonthly activity that distributes 70-100 meals to the homeless and disadvantaged. Volunteers seek out the homeless where they are living in city parks, under awnings and in the bush areas surrounding Darwin. In addition to the provision of a nutritious meal, our teams we also take time to have conversations with the homeless.

Frequency of service:

– Monthly, typically the first Saturday of each month.

– Preparation starts at 3.30pm.  Distribution from around 4.45pm -6.pm.

 

Volunteer requirements: 

OCHRE card / Working with children clearance

– Signed Safeguarding Code Of Conduct

 

Other information: 

Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are recommended. Volunteers will be provided with tabards to wear and identify as Order of Malta volunteers.

Each meal distributed by our outreach team costs approximately $4.50. Please suport this work.
