Message from Ingo Radtke, Secretary General
On behalf of the President, Board of Directors, and all of the staff at Malteser International, it is my pleasure to present you with our 2018 Annual Report. We are delighted to report on a full and exhilarating year in which we continued our work for the most vulnerable around the world, and embarked on the ambitious task of rebuilding homes and communities in Iraq, following the destruction wrought by ISIS.
In the face of a growing spiral of humanitarian challenges today, Malteser International’s expertise and over 60 years of experience have never been more needed. Thanks to supporters like you, we achieved tremendous results for people in need last year. Together, we reached more than 2 million people in 32 countries, transforming their lives for the better. Our program volume in 2018 rose to 59.6 million euros, reflecting the sustained growth in our operations, which has already seen turnover double over the last three years.
Results like these require an effective management of significant resources. In this report, you will find information on how we have stewarded the resources entrusted to us as well as full details of our financial and structural development.
The achievements in this report would not be possible without the continued support of our partners and networks as well as the generosity of our donors and supporters. While we’ve made major strides in our mission, we still have so much more to do! In gratitude, we invite you to review these results and continue to passionately support our shared mission – a life in health and dignity for all
