Order of Malta Australia

Palm Sunday – Order of Malta Volunteers (OMV) in Brisbane served vulnerable through ECM

On Palm Sunday 10 April 2022, Order of Malta Volunteers (OMV) in Brisbane supported Emmanuel City Mission (ECM) through sharing welcoming conversations with vulnerable people, while preparing and serving a free breakfast and cooking over 100 sausages for the free BBQ lunch.

Glen, ECM Director of Mission, kindly thanked OMV, “I always appreciate when the Order of Malta comes… I trust your competence and experience, and I don’t have to worry while our core team attends Sunday Mass”.

Regular guest “Tim-Tam’s” face lit up as he shared the latest happenings in his roller-coaster life. An Order of Malta Member reflected on the enriching sense of community, purpose and altruism which permeates the ECM homeless sanctuary and the Order’s Charism of serving people in need.
