Inaugural address of Malteser International’s new Secretary General, Clemens Graf von Mirbach-Harff

Clemens Graf von Mirbach-Harff was born in Cologne, Germany, in 1980. He completed his secondary school education in Madrid and thereafter pursued a military career leading to the rank of Lieutenant in 2002.
He studied Business Administration at the ESCP (École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris) Business School in Oxford, Madrid, Paris, and Berlin. After earning his degree in 2006, he worked with the management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG). In 2010, he took on the position of Operations Manager for his family’s business. In 2016, he completed vocational training in agriculture.
Clemens Graf von Mirbach-Harff joined the Order of Malta in 2004 and has since been active in voluntary and humanitarian activities for the youth wing of the German Association of the Order, including the Lebanon Project which he oversaw from 2010 until 2015. He became a member of the Council of the Rhine Delegation in 2008, a member of the Council of the German Association in 2014, and Vice-President of the German Association of the Order of Malta from 2015 until 2020.
Graf von Mirbach-Harff joined Malteser International in 2017 as Country Coordinator in Lebanon. In 2020, he was appointed Secretary General of Malteser International effective from November 1.
Clemens Graf von Mirbach-Harff is married and has four children.
