Order of Malta Australia

Hour of Reflection with Magistral Chaplain Fr Danny Meagher

On 28th August 2021, over 50 Members and Candidates of the Order of Malta shared the second instalment of “An Hour of Reflection with a Chaplain”. Magistral Chaplain Fr Danny Meagher discussed the Inspirations and Challenges of our Patron Saint, John the Baptist.

Fr Danny led an insightful discussion of St John the Baptist as the Wild Ascetic, the Prophet, the Humble Mystic and the Martyr.

As our Patron, we can draw inspiration from the many rich elements of how he lived and how he died. As a “Voice in the Wilderness”, St John’s selfless advocacy of spiritual truth helped to “prepare the way” for Christ, encouraging our reflection on sanctity, service, sacrifice and Salvation.

This reflection is part of the Order’s national spirituality strategy.
