Feeding the homeless and disadvantaged in the Northern Territory
Each month, Order of Malta members and volunteers in the Northern Territory meet to prepare and serve food to the disadvantaged and homeless.
The meals are delivered to several areas around Darwin City where mainly Indigenous families and community groups tend to congregate on grass, under trees and near commercial centres providing shelter from the elements. East Arm Reserve and Fannie Bay are typical of such sites.
This month there were many happy recipients of the delicious chicken, pasta salad, oranges, bread, and bottled water.
