Community Care Kitchen Bondi – open for business

17/12/2021

We have just completed our third service at our Community Care Kitchen in Bondi. This Wednesday our President, the Hon James Douglas, joined the volunteers and sat and spoke with our guests.

Currently our biggest focus is to get word out about the service and ensure they are aware it is open to anyone in need. We encourage anyone with linked to local organisations that support the poor and needy, please email info@orderofmalta.org.au to help us grow awareness of the kitchen.

Thanks to the generous support of Harris Farm the day to day running costs are minimal. A special mention to Conf. Jean-Pierre who has served up some delicious meals for our opening weeks. If you are interested in volunteering, please register your interest and we will get you added to the roster.

We have incurred some start up expenses for the project and have identified some equipment that would be useful for the service:

  • Volunteer aprons (20) – $500
  • Prayer cards – $500
  • Large soup mugs (100) – $600
  • Commercial toaster – $700
  • Signage – $1,000
  • Chest freezer – $2,000

Donations to support these projects can be made in the following ways:

  • Online using our secure payment portal

  • Direct Deposit to The Order of Malta, BSB 083 453, Acc: 44888 1897

  • Cheques made payable to ‘The Order of Malta’ and sent to The Order of Malta, PO Box 79 Caringbah, NSW 1495

Gifts of all sizes are greatly appreciated and donations of $2 and more are tax deductible.

The Community Care Kitchen is open every Wednesdays 6.30pm – 7.30pm

Location: St Patrick’s Catholic Church, 2 Wellington St, Bondi NSW 2026 (just off Bondi Road)
