Christmas gifts for those spending Christmas at treatment units

11/12/2017

Christmas GiftsEvery year, Members of the NSW Branch attend Gorman House Drug and Alcohol Detoxification Unit on Christmas Day to distribute gifts to the residents.

The Branch has been involved with the unit since 2006, providing both financial support exceeding $1.8 million and weekly volunteer support in the form of BBQs to socialise with residents during this difficult period.

Further to this, the Branch has extended the BBQ service to Tierney House residential unit; a health service for the inner city homeless population, while they access health care. Tierney House provides a safe and stable environment whereby residents can access assessment, treatment and support from St Vincent’s Hospital and local health and support services.

This year, Members of the NSW Branch will attend both Gorman and Tierney House on Christmas day to distribute gifts and pass on Christmas wishes to the residents.

If you would like to learn more about volunteer BBQs at these units, please email info@smom.org.au
