Australian member awarded a Knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours
Professor Edward Byrne, member of the Order of Malta Australia and President & Principal of King’s College London, has been awarded a Knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
The Queen’s Birthday Honours lists recognise the achievements of a wide range of people from across the UK.
Originally trained as a neuroscientist, Professor Byrne’s research contributions have been in the field of mitochondrial medicine and neuromuscular disorders. Professor Byrne was admitted as an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2006 and a Companion of the Order of Australia, Australia’s highest honour, in 2014.
