“At my age I just don’t have the strength anymore to get down in the garden, so I am so grateful to have the team come and help me.”

13/05/2021

Kath is a resident of the Sutherland Shire Community and has been a lifelong and active member of the St Aloysius Parish Community.

Kath recently started having joint problems making it harder for her to do simple tasks in the garden, like weeding and removing plants. It quickly became overgrown, to the point she dreaded going out there.

Our Order of Malta Volunteers (OMV) saw an opportunity to help and got to work, returning the overgrown garden to its former glory.

Kath is excited to sit in her garden again and play with her grandson.

“Thank you so much, the work that OMV has done in my garden has really made a difference. At my age I just don’t have the strength anymore to get down in the garden, so I am so grateful to have the team come and help me. I now can go into the garden and play with my grandson in the sun. I will be forever grateful for this.”

Our Order of Malta volunteers will be back out in Cronulla, NSW on the first weekend of June helping the elderly residents in their gardens. Please email cervolunteers@orderofmalta.org.au for more information
