2019/2020 Bushfire Appeal – message from the Hospitaller

02/01/2020

Dear Members and Supporters

Like all Australians, and indeed the rest of the world, it was with great sadness that we welcomed in 2020 with heartbreaking footage of families losing everything as bushfires rage throughout parts of the country. Further catastrophic conditions are forecast over the coming week.

The Order of Malta Australia will be using money from our Natural Disaster Fund to provide emergency relief to those directly impacted. We have approached the Dioceses in affected areas and are working with the local Priests to determine the needs in their area and how we can help.

We have already committed $50,000 to fund food vouchers that will be made available to these Parishes directly and will share with you the progress as it happens in the coming weeks. We anticipate there will be more opportunities to help as an Order as things develop.

If you would like to make a tax deductible donation towards our Natural Disaster Fund – 2019/2020 Bushfire Appeal you can do so using one of the donation methods below:

Credit card – using our secure online PayPal donation facility
Direct deposit – Name: Order of Malta BSB: 012 003, Account: 3796 09856. Please email info@orderofmalta.org.au to help us identify your donation and issue a receipt.
Cheque – made payable to ‘The Order of Malta’ and sent to ‘Bushfire Appeal, The Order of Malta, PO Box 79, Caringbah, NSW 1495’
Please give what you can.

Confraternal best wishes
